Research center of «Magnezit» Group
Center for technological developments has existed as an independent sub-division of Magnezit Group Ltd. only for a year and a half. But during this short period it has become a developed scientific and research base of the company.
The main site of the Center?s activity remains as usual Kombinat Magnezit JSC for which the most part of scientific and research works are being done. At the same time cooperation with other plants of the Group which specialize in production of unshaped refractories is promoted, in particular — with Magnezit-Intocast-Satka Ltd. and Dalmond Feuerfest Siegburg GmbH & Co. KG (Germany). Scientific potential of the Center is used also by the plants of Scientific and Production Complex «Magnezit» which perfects production of fluxes and modifiers for metallurgists and new technologies for production of refractories by casting and vibroforming.
Being the scientific and research base of the Magnezit Group Ltd. the Center solves the problems set by the management of the company. One of the main directions of its activity is complex utilization of the Satka deposit raw materials. Revolutionary for the Kombinat Magnezit technologies have been being introduced last year. These technologies make it possible to manufacture products which are in sharp demand on the part of metallurgists. For example compound slag modifiers produced either in rotary kilns or by method of continuous briquetting. Due to modernization of production facilities at the Magnesia Bricks Plant № 1 the Research Center began works for creation of qualitatively new refractories for non-ferrous metallurgy. At the same time traditional technologies of masses and mortars production are not left without attention of the researchers. Considerable results in this field were achieved by the project managers Elena Pospelova, Olga Pitzik, Olga Maryaseva, Sergei Koroteyev. Colleagues of the departments under the direction of Maxim Klinnikov, Tatiana Yarushina, Sergei Spesivtzev, Raissa Polovinkina work over perfection of traditional technologies. Monitoring of thermal units service has been successfully carried out by the Department of application of scientific and research achievements to production. This Department is directed by Rafail Nazmutdinov. Research works carried out in the Laboratory of Materials Science are in great demand with the technologists of Kombinat Magnezit and other plants. This laboratory is directed by Igor Maryasev.
