THE FIRST PART OF PRODUCTION LINE FOR MANUFACTURING OF “MARTENIT” MASSES HAS BEEN COMMISSIONED At the "Magnezit" plant (is included into "Magnezit Group" fireproof manufacturing holding, Satka, Cheliabinsk Region) the first part of production line for manufacturing the "Martenit" masses has been commissioned for start-up operations.

On February 10, after the installation of the tube chain conveyors and dust-collecting (aspiration) systems had been completed, the first part of production line for manufacturing of masses of "Martenit" type was commissioned for start-up operations. Commercial output of this product is to be started in April.

The introduction of such production line for manufacturing of "Martenit" masses at the "Magnezit" plant (is included into "Magnezit Group") should provide an opportunity to extend the facilities for "Martenit" mass production from 3,6 thousand T up to 12 thousand T a year. Construction of this production line was carried out within the framework of the Investment program of 2005 and cost 80 million roubles. Within the process of construction of the first part of this production line the additional technological equipment was installed in the workshop ¹ 2, provided for manufacturing of magnesite powder. The project is proposed to pay back in 2,8 years since the production start. Production volume within the first year of operation is expected to increase for 4,5 thousand T.

Masses of "Martenit" type are usually used for lining and repairing of hearths and banks of open hearth and electric arc steel-making furnaces. According to the metallurgists' appraisals, using of these masses allows significant reduction of the mass specific consumption in comparison with the periclase powders. Masses of "Martenit" type, characterized by high service life, give an opportunity to prolong the operation period of the furnaces' roofs and walls, and that is why at present the demand for such masses is continuing to increase.
