Kyshtym Refractory Works celebrated its 250-th Anniversary
On August 17-18. 2007 an enterprise belonging to Magnezit Group — Kyshtym Refractory Works — celebrated 250 — the anniversary since its foundation.
Kyshtym Refractory Works is the first among existing nowadays Russian enterprises for production of refractories. Its history began from the middle of 17-th century, in particular since 1757 when Demidov?s masters organized production of semi-acid and silica refractories for local iron-making plants.
At the moment the plant produces more than 1500 grades of refractories. Products of the plant are used by machine building, metallurgical, gas and other branches of industry. They are delivered to the enterprises of Urals, Siberia, Far East, European part of Russia as well as to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Since 2005 Kyshtym Refractory Works make part of Magnezit Group which is the biggest domestic producer of refractory materials.
During recent years the plant has been steadily increasing production volumes. In 2005 the more than 43 thousand tons of products were manufactured. It was by 12,5 % more than in 2004. In 2006 sales volumes surpassed level of 2005 by 18 % and profit increased nearly doubled. And during half a year of 2007 profits grew in comparison with the first half year of 2006 by 3, 8 times.
On Augusrt 17. ceremonial meeting took place at the Palace of Culture of metallurgists. General director Mr. Zaitzev V.A. reported about successes and achievements of the plant, informed about plans for the future and then letters of commendation, letters of appreciation, gifts and corporative bonuses were given to the best employees. Mr. Tschekochikhin V. Ya. — major of Kyshtym district — congratulated workers and employees of the plant on behalf of Chelyabinsk region governor Mr. Sumin and handed in prizes for the workers. Share holders, management of Magnezit Group and of Kombinat «Magnezit», managers of partner companies, representative of the deputy of regional Duma Mr. Volkhin A.I. congratulated the workers too
Besides the town received a wonderful present: President of Kombinat «Magnezit» and deputy of regional Duma Mr. Korostelyov handed in to the town authorities 2 million rubles for buying equipment for the local hospital.
On August 18. a big celebration was organized at the central square for the children and their parents and in the evening there was a big concert of such stars as a famous French group «Ottovan», Chelyabisnk group «Antarex». Grandiose fireworks were at the end of the celebration. It was broadcasted through a modern light-emitting diode panel which was installed at Karl Libknekht street.
