Refractories of Magnezit Group show an absolute record of strength in the oxygen-converter plant at EVRAZ ZSMK.
Thanks to high quality refractory materials of Magnezit Group the service life of lining of a 160-tons converter at the JSC «EVRAZ Zapadnо-Sibirskiy Metallurgical Integrated Works» (city Novokuznesk, Kemerov region) reached a record result of 5600 heats.
Three campaigns with linings produced by Magnezit Group were successfully finished at the oxygen-converter plant № 1 with the average service life of 4821 heats (minimum — 4197 heats, maximum — 5600 heats). Average service life of refractory lining of converters at the oxygen-converter plant № 1 increased this year by 33,8%. This is a better result than used to be characteristic for deliveries of recent five years. At that it should be pointed out that 5600 heats is an absolute record for the whole 45-years long history of this plant.
A good result was also achieved during operation of the lining of 300-tons converter at the oxygen-converter plant № 2. By now one campaign of the lining delivered by Magnezit Group has been finished on this thermal unit with the service life result of 4340 heats, which is higher by 16,8% of the average service life achieved during recent five years.
«The key reason for achieving such record results in service life of linings is high quality of „Magnezit“ refractory materials as well as fruitful work of specialists of the engineering division of the Group and the representative office in Novokuznetsk, who elaborated rules and recommendations for operation and maintenance of linings,» — said technical director of Magnezit Group Lev Axelrod.
