Meeting of Chelyabinsk region governor P. I. Sumin with head of Satka district V.G. Nekrasov and president of Magnezit Group S.P. Korostelyov
A regular meeting of the governor of Chelyabisnk region P. I. Sumin with the Head of Satka municipal district V. G. Nekrasov and the President of Magnezit Group, deputy head of the Committee for social politics of the regional Legislative Assembly S. P. Korostelyov took place on January 31. 2008.
Urgent problems of social and economic development of the territory were discussed during the meeting. Mr. Korostelyov told the governor about results and perspectives of Magnezit Group activity. He pointed out that Magnezit Group ranks among the world?s leaders of refractory industry for volumes of prospected resources and mining of raw magnesite and for volumes of manufactured products. 1, 6 millions tons of refractory products were shipped to consumers in 2007. In 2008 it is planned to increase the total volume of refractory products shipments up to 1,8 million tons.
Photo from the website of the governor of Chelyabinsk region http://www.gubernator74.ruAmong the most important achievements in 2007 which enabled the company to considerably strengthen its market positions Mr. Korostelyov singled out acquisition of Pazdolinsk Periclase Works in Krasnoyarsk krai and of the biggest producer of refractory materials in Eastern Europe — company SLOVMAG (Slovakia) as well as of a plant for production of refractory masses in China.
Then Mr. Korostelyov told about the main priorities of the company activity the most important of which are innovative and investment activity. Investment program of 2008 is appraised at 2, 8 billion rubles. It is nearly 50 % more than investments of 2007. It was underlined by Mr. Korostelyov that environmental protection remains one of the most important priorities of Magnezit Group. In 2008 it is planned to increase total amount of expenditure for this purpose by 1, 5 times — up to 443 million rubles. The biggest and the most important ecological projects will be reconstruction of gas purification units on the fifth and sixth rotary kilns in magnesia powder workshop № 2 and reconstruction of ventilation system in magnesia bricks workshop № 1 of Kombinat Magnezit.
«All our tasks and aims are as a matter of fact related to the necessity of improvement the quality of life if our employees. And this is one more priority of the company», — pointed out Mr. Korostelyov. In 2006 average monthly salary increased at Kombinat Magnezit by 24,7 percent. In 2007 it increased in comparison with 2006 nearly by 28 percent. Total additional payments to pensions of all retired veterans of Kombinat Magnezit increased nearly by two times.
Speaking about social projects of Magnezit Group implemented during last year Mr. Korostelyov pointed out reconstruction of the children?s summer camp «Barabanshchik» («Drummer»); construction of boiler house in the Palace of sport Magnezit; opening of sport-training football complex with artificial grass surfacing on four mini football fields; participation in organization of Resource educational center and creation of Satka university complex on the basis of Mining-Ceramic College and subsidiary of South-Urals State University, as well as participation in implementation of the party project of the party United Russia — complete social program «Close-knit family».
«In 2008 the social vector in development of the company will be preserved and we as before are going to participate in implementation of important social projects of Satka municipal district and Chelyabisnk region,» — underlined Mr. Korostelyov in conclusion.
