Magnezit: territory of environmental safety
Plants of Satka production site of Magnezit Group (town Satka, Chelyabinsk region) have completed ahead of schedule implementation of the program excessive emissions reduction.

The Strategic program with the total volume of investment into nature conservation activity amounting to more than 5 billion rubles consolidated measures of environmental orientation in all spheres of Magnezit Group activity. Besides correspondence to the norms of maximum permissible emissions approved by the government of the region, the program envisages a package of additional measures aimed at preservation of all components of natural environment: atmospheric air, surface and underground water, soil and vegetation.
The first results of implementation of the environmental program impress: in
2010-2011 volume of dust emissions lowered by 40%, and further reduction of dust emissions, taking into account measures of the program, will reach 85%. It became possible thanks to upgrading of gas scrubbing equipment and installation of bag filters by Austrian company Scheuch Gmbh. Coefficient of efficiency of these filters is close to 100%. Technological renovation of production facilities also took place. The most modern equipment installed at subdivisions of «Magnezit» corresponds to the most stringent European standards of environmental safety, enables to increase efficiency of energy resources consumption and rationally use of raw materials, creating possibilities for greater application in production of substandard and recycled raw materials.The work aimed at reduction of dumping of contaminants into the river Bigger Satka will be continued thanks to transition to closed-loop water circulation. Modern devices for control of dumping of contaminants will be installed. In the framework of the Strategic program it is envisaged as well to expand the new site of domestic waste landfill corresponding to all ecological standards. The project of «Magnezit» sanitary protection zone has been developed. More than 40 various enterprises and organizations are located in this zone. It will enable to apply requirements of nature preservation legislature in the field of atmospheric air protection to all the enterprises located in the sanitary zone of «Magnezit». At the moment the project is at the stage of approval by controlling authorities.
