Magnezit Group obtained a positive conclusion of the Glavgosexpertiza of the Russian Federation for the construction project of the first stage of the Talsky quarry

Back in 2011 Magnezit Group obtained a license for development of Talskoye deposit in Krasnoyarsk region — one of the largest explored deposits of high quality magnesite in the country. Together with the neighboring Goluboy area of Kirgiteiskoye deposit, which has been developed by Magnezit Group since 2006, it forms a unique Siberian raw material base of the company with the volume of more than 105 million tons, where extra pure raw materials with high magnesium oxide content and minimal level of impurities are extracted.

Previously, on the site of the future mine, an area of more than 460 hectares, were carried out archaeological research and a complex of engineering surveys, including geodetic, geological, hydrometeorological and environmental. Then an environmental expert review took place: in 2021, together with the Administration of Motyginsky District of Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Group held public discussions of the project documentation, including an environmental impact assessment. Based on the results of the discussions, a decision was made to send the materials to the State Environmental Expert Review, and in March 2022 a positive conclusion on the project’s compliance with environmental requirements of technical regulations and environmental protection legislation was obtained.

And in May of this year Magnezit Group obtained a positive conclusion of Glavgosexpertiza of the Russian Federation on compliance of design documentation of the 1st stage of Talsky open pit construction with the established requirements. At present, the preparation of the working documentation for the construction of individual facilities of the open pit is being completed: the mining section, the industrial site with the crushing and sorting complex, the waste dumping facilities and others.

Putting the first stage of the Talsky open-cast mine with the production capacity up to 1 million tons per year into service will allow the Group to increase production of the most popular for the domestic consumers line of the «Russian Magnesite» brand products thus contributing to enhancing import substitution and improvement of raw material security of the national economy.
