Magnezit Group publishes sustainability report
Magnezit Group published its Sustainability Report for 2021. In accordance with the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) group of standards most widely used in the world, the Report discloses information about the activity and key results in the field of social and ecological responsibility, as well as approaches to corporate management, strategy and development of the system of sustainable development.
«We work with a material, the reserves of which are limited on the earth and yet one of the most necessary for many industries, without which they simply would not exist. That’s why we consider it our duty to be accountable to society about exactly how we manage the natural resources entrusted to us and what our activities bring to our partners and all our stakeholders. To do this fully and honestly today and in the future,» said Group CEO Sergey Odegov.Sustainable development is one of the main priorities of Magnezit Group. In 2021, in order to develop the established practice of responsible business, the Group adopted Policy of sustainable development, taking into account the global goals of sustainable development of the UN and implemented a complex management system for this activity. As a necessary component of this system, the Report is intended to cover a wide range of issues of concern to counterparties, employees, and residents of the regions where we operate, demonstrating the impact of the Group’s activities on the development of technology and innovation, the environment, and the economy and society as a whole.
Recognizing that sustainable development is the result of joint efforts, the Group openly interacts with all stakeholders, seeks to play an active role in shaping the sustainability agenda in its industry and share positive experiences with partners and colleagues.
