«Magnezit» changes the world
Magnezit Group became the winner of VIII competition of social achievements «Changing the world» in a nomination «Charitable activities in all areas of social sphere».
Competition «Changing the world» aims to reveal socially responsible and active companies of region. The organizers traditionally are the Legislative Assembly, the Government and the Public Chamber of the Chelyabinsk region. This year participation in competition was accepted by 70 companies, whose projects have helped more than 200 thousand people, including 48 thousand children.
The Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Vladimir Myakush said: «This festival of responsiveness and generosity has already been held 8 times. It is not coincidence that this competition is named „Changing the world“. In fact, you are those people who make the world better and more beautiful. Today here we can see the leaders of socially-oriented, ethical business. Without you it is impossible to build the future of Russia».
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of «Magnezit», the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk region Leonid Urmashov said that «Magnezit» was true to its mission of socially responsible company and aspired to maintain worthy working conditions, social and moral well-being of people, to promote economic development of the regions where the plants of the company are located.
Leonid Urmashov emphasized that «Magnezit» had always supported the development of culture, sports, public health services, formation. «We continue to realize joint projects with a branch of South Ural State University in Satka and the Technical School № 69 which has recently increased its status to Polytechnic School. In the near future we will hand over traditional grants of the Board of Directors to exceptional children and excellent pupils, whose parents work at «Magnezit» plant.
L. Urmashov also noticed that «Magnezit Group supported a creation of Internet Public Library in Satka, I International children’s command chess tournament on a cup of the governor of the Chelyabinsk region, a realization of projects «Chess general education» and «Chess for the general development». The company annually carries out different actions for children of Satka: on September 1st «Magnezit» presents school bags with a totality of stationery to all first-graders; on June 1st, in the International Children’s day, the company organizes festivities in the orphanage of Bakal and in the cultural centre «Magnezit» in Satka. All our social initiatives aim to improve quality of life of our employees, their families and all citizens of Satka region.
Magnezit Group has taken part in competition «Changing the world» since 2005. Today among social achievements of the company there are diplomas of the winner of this competition in nominations: «Manufacture of industrial goods» (2005), «Support of education and culture» (2006), «Charitable activities in all areas of social sphere» (2007, 2011), «Support of culture and art, participation in preservation of cultural heritage sites» (2009), «Support of physical training, sports and tourism» (2008, 2010).
