Magnezit Group started to produce runner clays for blast furnaces for the first time in Russia
Magnezit Group has started to produce runner clays at enterprise «Magnezit-torkret-masses» (МТМ) which is an integral part of Satka production site of the Group (Satka, Chelyabinsk region).
A new line for runner clays manufacture for blast furnaces was put in operation. In the first year it is planned to manufacture 8 thousand tons of production.
This line is furnished with modern, highly effective, weight-dispensing equipment. It also includes a new mixer (Eirich company, Germany), successfully proved its work at refractory enterprises worldwide. The line is completely automated and provides additional quality assurance of dispensing of source materials during a finished product preparation.
Source materials for manufacture of such products are corundums, bauxites and andalusites, and also other binding mixes and additives. On the basis of them three types of products will be manufactured: two types of concrete — for the main and tilting runners of blast furnaces, and also repair mass for hot repairs.
Diversification of products, including in sector of unshaped refractories, is one of the perspective directions of Group Magnezit development in medium-term strategy. Using own scientific and technical potential, and also technological possibilities and raw independence of enterprises, the Group produces modern competitive products in order to meet the requirements of all consumers.
In September, in the framework of modernization program, МТМ will receive the second milling complex; its input in operation is planned for December. At the turn of the year a line for production of torkret-masses for tundishes and repair masses for heating units will also be put into operation. As a result a production capacity of МТМ will increase to 65 thousand tons per year.
