Magnezit Group introduces a new milling line to increase production of periclase clinker
In November 2011 Magnezit Group is finishing construction works and will commission a high-tech complex for fine-dispersed grinding of magnesia raw materials – a new milling line in the framework of the investment project for construction of the 2-nd stage of the Complex for production of periclase clinker in Satka production site (town Satka, Chelyabinsk region). Volume of investments into the project amounted to 270 million rubles.
The new milling line includes a grinding ball mill with separator Hosokawa Alpine (Germany), fan and gas cleaning bag filter Scheuch Gmbh (Аustria). Transportation of finished products is effected with the help of angular elevator Nerak. Three heat-generators are installed. They will provide for the necessary heating mode of the grinding equipment. Weighing machines Schenk are intended for controlling of feeding raw materials into the mill. It should be pointed out that weighing machines of such type are put into operation for the first time with the aim of upgrading weighing and dosing equipment. An airline of electricity transmission and a module substation with the voltage of 6 Kwt were constructed in order to ensure nonstop operation of the new line.
Installation of the new grinding equipment was carried out without expansion of the existing floorspace of the Complex for production of dead burnt periclase clinkers. Specialists of the designing department of “Magnezit” found engineering solution which permitted to avoid construction of a new building. Thanks to this solution cost-effectiveness of the project improved. The project of automated control system of the complex technological processes was for the first time in full volume carried out by the specialists of “Magnezit”.
A new line of briquetting (presses of Hosokawa Bepex, Germany) and fragmentation will have been introduced by the end of 2011. The company is actively planning and preparing for construction of the unique technological units - the high-temperature shaft furnace (capacity of 80 thousand tons per year) and multiple hearth (capacity 100 thousand tons per year). Partner of the Group in this project is the engineering company Polysius AG (Germany).
Transition to the novel for the Russian market clinker technology and expansion of production volumes of modern refractory products based on it are the key strategic directions of development of Magnezit Group for the middle term.
In September 2008 Magnezit Group introduced a Complex for production of periclase clinkers with the capacity of 50 thousand tons per year. Investments into the project amounted to about one billion rubles. More than two years of the Complex operation proved its high efficiency and at the moment the company is modernizing technological cycle and expanding production capacities. The Complex has no analogues in Russia and CIS.
With the introduction of the 2nd stage performance, the Complex will increase to 130 thousand tons per year. Even today, the entire volume of the planned production output has contracted to future buyers. Growing interest of consumers to purchase high-tech product that meet all requirements of modern industry, enables Magnezit Group to draw plans for expansion of capacities for production of periclase clinker in Russia.
In the framework of the project for construction of the 2-nd stage of the Complex for the first time in a single technological cycle there will be united a multiple hearth furnace for burning of raw magnesite, high temperature shaft furnace as well as technologies for fine-dispersed milling and briquetting of magnesia powders. All the processes of treatment will be automated and control will be effectuated from a single center.
Implementation of the project for commissioning of the 2-nd stage of the Complex will have been fully completed by the year 2012. The total volume of investments into the project amounts to 1,8 billion rubles. Maximal possible results in the project are achieved thanks to the comprehensive approach and, first of all, thanks to inclusion into the technological string of the multiple hearth furnace. Efficient use of raw materials resources due to reducing of high quality raw materials consumption as well as processing of nonstandard and low quality raw materials considerably expands the resources base of the company and creates a competitive advantage unachievable by other enterprises in Russia and abroad. The Complex complies with the most stringent standards of environmental safety.
Periclase clinker is a high quality powder and briquette on its basis. Refractories produced on the basis of periclase clinker possess improved service characteristics: low open porosity, high density, insignificant changes of geometrical dimensions of bricks in the process of heating and operation, stability of properties which permits to considerably increase service life of thermal units’ linings.
