Magnezit Group will modernize in 2011 four electric furnaces and will increase annual production of fused periclase up to 50 thousand tons

Magnezit Group will modernize in 2011 capacities for production of fused periclase at the Magnesite Powder Workshop № 4 (ЦМП-4) of Satka production site (town Satka in Chelyabinsk region). In January specialists of the Group commissioned the first modernized electric furnace. Its production capacity was increased by 30 %. Another 3 furnaces will be put into operation during thе 1-st quarter of 2011. After completion of this work capacities for production of fused periclase will be increased up to 50 thousand tons.

«Fused periclase is the basis for all high quality refractory shapes and increase of its production volumes is for us a key strategic task», — pointed out the General Director of Magnezit Group Mr. Sergei Odegov. «In perspective we are planning to increase production volumes of this material by several times including material which will be produced at newly constructed production capacities. These large scale plans will enable us to considerably strengthen our positions on the world market and offer to customers a competitive called-for product».

The works aimed at modernization of the furnace and increase of its production capacity includes introduction of automated control system of technological fusion process. It became possible to reduce its duration as well as electric energy consumption per ton of ready-made product.

The distinctive features of fused materials are their high density and considerable corrosion resistance. Fused materials have particular position in refractory technologies as thanks to their application it is possible to manufacture products with higher service life and to develop highly efficient processes in metallurgy, chemical technology, production of construction materials, energy sector, instrument making and other branches of industry.
